Imbema Cleton BV (previously Cleton & Meijer BV) is an established name in Vlaardingen. The business premises, which date from the Nineteen Fifties and which comprise an office and factory building, no longer fulfilled modern requirements. For that reason, the decision was taken in 2011 to build new, sustainable premises comprising an office, production facility and dispatch area. One very important aspect was the acoustic insulation of the offices on the 1st and 2nd floors and the conference room on the ground floor.
Metal stud walls between offices
On the 1st floor is a large office space which is used as the sales office. The offices of the management and executive secretary, and the printer are located next to this office. The canteen and consultation rooms are located on the 2nd floor. The metal stud walls with plasterboard between these rooms had to provide sufficient noise reduction. Our colleagues at Imbema SMT were called in to find a solution. They have a great deal of experience with solving acoustic issues and, in this situation, they recommended using Isolgomma Trywall insulation panels.
Acoustic insulation as a prefab panel
Trywall is a sustainable prefab panel consisting of two layers of polyester with a rubber core. This makes it ideal for lightweight walls, such as metal stud walls, as well as for false ceilings. Trywall offers excellent acoustic performance and is quick and easy to use. The acoustic performance report was submitted to the architect. The architect was convinced of the level of performance of Trywall and decided that this sustainable product should be used by the contractor.
The new Imbema Cleton premises were designed by Van Es Architecten and were completed in August 2012.
